Here, You’ll Go Beyond Numbers
We’re looking for a talented and qualified Audit Assistant Manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering some of the most complex and technically challenging work across the firm.
At MHA, this is more than a traditional audit role. You’ll gain exposure to large and listed businesses, working on complex IFRS matters and supporting engagement teams on high-profile assignments. Working closely with Partners, Directors and senior technical leaders, you'll have the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise whilst maintaining involvement throughout the audit lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience beyond standard audit engagements, working with large, complex organisations and gaining exposure to the challenges faced by listed and multi-entity businesses.
What We’re Looking For
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
- Supporting audits of large and listed businesses, including complex groups and FTSE-listed entities.
- Reviewing and advising on technical IFRS matters, including business combinations, fair value assessments, accounting estimates and going concern considerations.
- Preparing and reviewing technical accounting papers, audit memorandums and documentation to support key audit judgments and conclusions.
- Working closely with Partners, Directors and engagement teams to resolve complex accounting and auditing issues.
- Taking an active role throughout engagements, from planning and risk assessment through to completion and final reporting.
- Reviewing audit work and supporting the development of junior team members, providing coaching and technical guidance where required.
- Liaising directly with clients and senior stakeholder groups to understand business risks and discuss technical accounting matters.
- Contributing to audit quality by helping engagement teams navigate complex accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Building strong relationships across the firm and acting as a trusted technical resource for audit teams.
- Staying up to date with developments in IFRS, auditing standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Previous audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS.
- Experience working with large corporate clients, listed entities, or complex group audits.
- Ability to analyse and communicate technical accounting issues clearly and effectively.
- Experience preparing or reviewing technical accounting papers, memorandums and audit documentation.
- Confident working directly with senior stakeholders, including Partners, Directors and client finance teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commercially aware, client-focused and motivated to deliver high-quality outcomes.
