We’re looking for a talented Entrepreneurial / Mixed Tax Senior Manager OR Director who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces the chance to tackle complex challenges. At MHA, you’ll be surrounded by passionate professionals who are dedicated to making a difference. Your work in Corporate Tax will go beyond the numbers – it’s about building meaningful client relationships, understanding their businesses, navigating risks, and delivering insights that drive real results.

As an Entrepreneurial Tax Senior Manager / Director, you will work with a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial businesses, owner-managed companies, private groups, shareholders, high net worth individuals, and family-owned enterprises. You will gain exposure to a broad range of complex UK and cross-border tax matters across multiple tax disciplines, leveraging MHA's position as the UK independent member firm of Baker Tilly International.

The role will be predominantly advisory-focused, providing strategic tax advice to businesses and individuals across a wide range of matters. You will work closely with clients and fellow advisers to deliver commercially focused solutions, helping clients navigate key business and personal tax decisions. Ultimately, there will be flexibility to tailor the role to the individual, with opportunities to get involved in a diverse range of advisory projects.

This will include areas such as shareholder and owner-managed business planning, business succession, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, remuneration planning, capital gains tax planning, inheritance tax planning, property and stamp taxes, international tax matters, and supporting businesses and individuals through various stages of their life cycle.

Most importantly, we are looking for ambitious and forward-thinking individuals who are keen to develop their skills, build great relationships with existing and future clients, and leverage the experience on offer in this role to develop their technical and soft skills to progress in their career.

What We’re Looking For

  • CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial clients, including owner-managed businesses, private groups, shareholders, family offices, trusts, and high net worth individuals.
  • Taking overall responsibility for the delivery of complex tax advisory engagements across a broad range of tax disciplines, ensuring technical excellence, commercial practicality, and efficient project management.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to clients, providing commercially focused advice across areas including personal tax, corporate tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, employment taxes, stamp taxes, business succession planning, shareholder planning, and international tax matters.
  • Leading and managing significant advisory projects, including business restructurings, shareholder reorganisations, business sales and acquisitions, management buyouts, remuneration planning, succession planning, and property-related transactions.
  • Advising business owners, entrepreneurs, and private clients on tax-efficient strategies throughout the business lifecycle, from start-up and growth through to succession and exit.
  • Working closely with Partners and specialists across the wider tax practice to provide integrated solutions for clients with complex tax requirements.
  • Proactively identifying tax planning and advisory opportunities within the client portfolio, contributing to revenue growth and cross-selling initiatives across service lines.
  • Supporting and driving business development activities, including originating work, leading or contributing to pitches and proposals, developing client and referrer relationships, and contributing to the growth of the Entrepreneurial Tax offering.
  • Working closely with Partners on strategic clients and key accounts, helping to identify new service opportunities, sectors, and routes to market.
  • Providing technical leadership within the team, mentoring and developing Managers, Assistant Managers, and junior team members, while sharing best practice across the wider tax function.
  • Contributing to the strategic growth of the tax practice through thought leadership, networking, and supporting a high-performance, advisory-led culture.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the firm, building strong relationships internally and externally, and promoting the MHA brand in the marketplace.
