What does a career in Private Client Tax actually involve?
Private Client Tax is focused on helping individuals and families understand and manage their personal tax affairs, with advice tailored to their individual circumstances and longer-term goals. You could work with a wide variety of clients, including entrepreneurs, business owners, families, trusts and individuals with UK and international interests, giving you the opportunity to build meaningful, often long-term client relationships. From an early stage, you’ll support work such as preparing personal tax returns, researching tax legislation and helping clients meet their tax obligations, while as your knowledge develops you may gain exposure to more complex areas including trusts and estates, inheritance tax, succession planning and international or cross-border tax matters. It’s a career that combines technical problem solving with understanding people and their individual circumstances. If you enjoy building relationships and are interested in people, their finances and helping them navigate important financial decisions, Private Client Tax could be a great fit for you. If you’re more interested in companies, how businesses operate and the tax implications of commercial decisions, we’d encourage you to explore our Corporate Tax opportunities instead.

-

-
Studying towards your Professional Qualification (ATT Level 5 and CTA Level 7)
